EV Fast charging will stuck in these 5 instance

Fast charging Electric v immediate after  fast and harsh driving on highway . Connecting to Fast charging immediate after continuous harsh long drive on highway will not be accepted many times by BMS.it happens so when temperature is reached beyond permissible limit. More fast you drive more current flow needed ,makes  fast ionic movement inside battery, cause temperature raising inside battery ambience. Although BMS keeps continuous control of Battery temperature by cooling through thermal management system. Still in summers long drive raises temperature rapidly. In such a situation Fast charging will not take place. BMS restricted accept fast charging when temperature is beyond permissible limit. also during fast charging process temperature start again rising by reverse movement of Ion inside battery .

Do not keep connected after reached at 80% SOC (in some cases90%). The Battery management system keep control over the Fast Charging process . Beyond upper zone 80% & above State of Charging(SOC), BMS stops accepting fast mode charging. Such stopping restriction by BMS is to prevent over heating & current overflow. This type restrictions keeps battery healthy and longevity. Some higher Ev like TESLA , Audi E-tron, BMW i4  accept upto SOC 90%

When Battery status below than 20% Depth of Discharging( DoD). The Battery management system do not allow Fast charging below 20% DoD & above 80% .  BMS are pre programmed by manufacturer of electric car. TESLA  & some other Ev car accept fast charging from 10% . Many time electric vehicle manufacturer also revises this fast charging accepting zone in between 10 to 90% SOC.

Do not remained  connected charging gun when Fast charger  power sharing is with another high Capacity Car. Higher DC Fast charger have multi chord charging pins to  facilitate many electric vehicle charging simultaneously. Such DC Fast charger supplies its total power through multi chord, either on sharing basis or dynamic supply basis. In case one chord connected to high end electric car then balance power may remains short supply  in another  chord. In such a case fast charging will become “slow” to EV car connected at another chord  for reason less power availability.

In summers DC Fast charger stuck for overheating reasons . In India it is common during Summers , temperature touches 48 deg C. DC Fast charger also releases lot of heat while continue charging to electric vehicles In such a cases the DC Fast chargers also become heat up beyond permissible limit & stuck to working till temperatures comes down, either by some external effort or though its in built cooling system.
